Tibet Museum Conducts Workshop on Photography and Photoshop

DHARAMSHALA: The Tibet Museum and Chauntra Tibetan Settlement Office conducted a workshop on basics of photography, photoshop and picture news reporting at Chauntra Tibetan Settlement office on 18 October 2013. The workshop was conducted Mr. Tashi Phuntsok of Tibet Museum, Department of Information and International Relations and facilitated by Mr. Tenzin Rabga, the Settlement Officer of Chauntra Tibetan Settlement.

Mr. Tashi Phuntsok began the workshop by giving brief introduction on Central Tibetan Administration’s different news portals and online publications. Through power point presentation, he also touched on various topics like, how to increase the efficacy of news reporting by using suitable photographs, how to click good photographs, which format of photographs to be used for online news and for printing and how to edit and send photograph for news reporting etc.

Around 40 participants including staff from the three Tibetan settlement offices in Bir, monks from various monasteries and students and staff from TCV Suja, TCV Chauntra and Sambhota Tibetan School attended the workshop.

Mr. Tashi Phuntsok along with two museum staff were in three Tibetan settlements in Bir from 14 – 18 October, to gather and solicit old photographs as a part of the Tibet Museum ‘Family Album Collection Project’. The project is aimed at procuring old photographs from the residents of three Tibetan Settlements in Bir.
