Three-day Thank You India Program at Calicut, Kerala

Since Tibet’s illegal occupation by China in 1959, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan people have been living in India for more than 50 years.

As a mark of gratitude to the People and Government of India for their generous hospitality and continuous support, Central Tibetan Administration initiated a ‘Thank You India’ program in five important cities of India -Sonipat in Haryana, Calicut in Kerala, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Hence, on the auspicious occasion of Onam festival in Kerala, we are holding three days ‘Thank You India’ program at Malabar Palace of Calicut from 11th – 13th September 2016.

The program will features rare photo exhibition on ‘Indo-Tibet Relations’ and ‘Current Situation inside Tibet’, documentary film screening and expert talks on Tibet in Sino India relations, Environment and fragile ecosystem of Tibetan Plateau. There will be free medical camp by the Tibetan Medical and Astro. Institute and Tibetan college students of Bangalore will be performing Tibetan cultural dance.

The program is jointly organized by Indo Tibetan Friendship Society (ITFS) Calicut in coordination with the Tibet Museum from Dharamshala, Tibet Policy Institute from Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and India Tibet Coordination (ITCO) based in New Delhi.

The program is open for public from 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM.
