Students watching documentary movie "Longing for Tibet".

In order to honor refugees around the globe and to celebrate the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution, the United Nations observes 20th June every year as World Refugee Day. The Tibet Museum, Department of Information and International Relations, CTA commemorated the day by organising an outreach program at Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen (Model) School, Khanyara Road. School’s administration desk fervently acknowledged the initiative and coordinated us with necessities including a spacious exhibition space. We displayed a complete set of exhibition titled ‘Tibet’s Journey into Exile’ and also screened a documentary ‘Longing for Tibet’. Close to 200 students from class IV to X joined the program and showed great interest in understanding our(Tibetan) plight and resilience. Overall, the session was interactive and truly memorable. We would like to thank all the Teachers, Principal,
Staff and Students of Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School for their time, interest and cooperation.
