Mundgod traveling exhibition

As part of the Guton celebration, the Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, Mundgod, organized a two-day Tibetan Cultural Festival at Karnataka University, Dharwad, on 24–25 June 2026. The festival aimed to promote Tibetan culture and share the values and legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with students and the wider community.

The Tibet Museum participated in the festival by presenting a pictorial exhibition on the life and biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the Vice Chancellor of Karnataka University and the Assistant Commissioner-cum-Tahsildar of Dharwad, along with other distinguished guests. Throughout the two-day event, students from Karnataka University visited the exhibition and explored the photographs with great interest and enthusiasm.

On the second day of the festival, Geshe Lodoe Sangpo of Ganden Jangtse Monastery delivered a talk on the Four Commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the students of Karnataka University. The programme also featured vibrant cultural performances by members of the Mundgod Tibetan Settlement, highlighting Tibet’s rich cultural heritage.

Following the university programme, on 26 June 2026, the Tibet Museum showcased the same pictorial exhibition for students of Sambhota Tibetan School, from Classes 6 to 12, as well as members of the public in the Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, Mundgod. The students and visitors viewed the exhibition with genuine curiosity, asking thoughtful questions about the life, work, and enduring legacy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
