Ludhiana Travelling Exhibition

In celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Tibetan Traders’ Association of Ludhiana, Punjab, in collaboration with the Tibet Museum, organized a special traveling exhibition. The exhibition featured two key themes:

  1. Biography of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama

  2. Indo-Tibet Relations

This initiative was part of “Ghoton: The Year of Compassion”, launched by the Central Tibetan Administration to honor the upcoming 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including:

  • Sikyong Penpa Tsering, President of the Central Tibetan Administration

  • Justice Commissioner Dawa Phunkyi

  • Justice Commissioner Phagpa Tsering

  • Deputy Speaker Dolma Tsering, Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile

  • Jigme Jungney, Representative of the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Delhi

  • Tsering Dhondup, Finance Secretary, Central Tibetan Administration

  • Karma Gelek, Member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile

  • Dhondup Tsering, Director, Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts

Also in attendance were prominent Indian guests and members of the local business community, including:

  • Navin Sudha, Chairman, Lala Tibetan Hosiery Association

  • D.S. Kapur, Chairman, Indo-Tibetan Hosiery Association

  • Ashrif, Chairman, Delhi Jafrabad Business Association

The exhibition served not only as a celebration of India’s independence but also as a platform to strengthen Indo-Tibetan relations and commemorate the life and legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
