Special Ghoton exhibition

On July 7th, the Tibet Museum under the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) organized a special exhibition celebrating the life and achievements of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The exhibition featured two comprehensive biographical displays that attracted numerous visitors to the Tsuglakhang complex.

The first exhibition, called “Zeythang,” consisted of 17 informative panels in Tibetan thangka style that highlighted the major events and milestones throughout His Holiness’s remarkable life. Each panel included detailed descriptions in both English and Tibetan, which visitors found very informative and engaging.

The second exhibition presented a complete biography of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, covering his early life, political and religious journey, meetings with world leaders, honorary awards received, and his four main commitments. This exhibition was particularly well-received as it was presented in three languages: Tibetan, Hindi, and English, making it accessible to a diverse audience.

The exhibition received distinguished visitors, including Yangten Rinpoche and the 43rd Sakya Trizin, who came to view the displays.

As part of the celebration, the museum offered free distribution of special publications from the office. These included a special book on reincarnation and a newly released statement by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, along with other related materials. The response was overwhelming, and all the books were distributed to eager visitors.

This special exhibition, with its two different panel display presentations, was greatly appreciated by the public. The event successfully honoured His Holiness’s 90th birthday while educating visitors about his extraordinary life and contributions to world peace and compassion.
