Delhi, India – The Tibet Museum participated in the recently held “Spirit of Tibet: Celebrating Culture and Compassion”, a three-day Tibet Fest from 3rd – 5th September 2024 organized by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in Delhi. The events brought together major Tibetan cultural institutes from India to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of Tibetan heritage. Likewise, the Tibet Museum exhibited two exhibitions & set up merchandise booths, allowing visitors to take home a piece of Tibetan culture.

The topic of two exhibitions, “Mapping Tibet and Indo-Tibet Relations from Ancient Periods,” was held at the prestigious Indian International Centre (IIC) and drew significant attention from a diverse audience. The event attracted many prominent visitors, including the ambassador from the USA Embassy, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of CTA, Tibet expert Claude Arpi, representatives from USAID, representatives from Indo-Tibet friendship groups, and USA Embassy staff, alongside local Delhi residents and college students.

Some guests/visitors commented on the critical role of such exhibitions in raising awareness about Tibet, particularly among younger generations in major Indian cities and universities.

The Spirit of Tibet Fest and travelling exhibition of the Tibet Museum has once again proven to be a vital platform for cultural diplomacy, strengthening ties between Tibet and India while educating the public about Tibet’s rich cultural heritage and diaspora situation.
