The Tibet Museum of DIIR, Central Tibetan Administration showcased its photo exhibition covering three themes namely “From Home to Exile – Remembering March 17, 1959”, “Brief Biography of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama” and “India and Tibet – Ancient Ties, Current Bonds” at Thank You India 2018 event organized by Doon Tibetan Communities under the guidance of Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement Office in Dehra Dun on 13 April, 2018.

The photo exhibition was welcome well by the people of Doon valley. The chief guest of the event Shri Khajan Das, MLA Rajpur Constituency visited the exhibition accompanied by Mr. Norbu, Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement Officer and other guests. They interestingly went through the exhibits. Thereafter, the general public thronged the exhibition in large numbers. There were Indian people as well as Tibetan people – young and old, school students and college students. They were guided by the museum staff explaining the exhibits of the exhibition. The visitors shared their opinions after going through the exhibition at the end in the comment book.

Apart from the photo exhibition, there were newsletter of the Tibet Museum for free distribution which the visitors gladly took with them. There were also some souvenirs such as post card and bag from the Tibet Museum on sale which some visitors bought happily.

In all, the photo exhibition was good in telling the story of Tibet, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and India-Tibet relationship to the people unknown of these. For Tibetans, it was recalling of the past to work harder for the Tibetan cause ahead.
