The Tibet Museum to tour North America for Exhibition and Fundraising Campaign

The Tibet Museum of Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) is slated to undertake an extensive photo exhibition cum fundraising campaign tour of North America in the month of April and May 2018. The exhibition cum fundraising campaign which will kick off from Toronto, Canada on Saturday, April 21, 2018, will also cover 8 cities in United States, namely Minneapolis, Madison, New York, Connecticut, Boston, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. The exhibition cum fundraising tour is being facilitated by the Office of Tibet based in Washington D.C. and is being organized in close collaboration with Tibetan Associations in Canada and US in their respective cities. The tour will conclude in San Francisco Bay Area, California on 29 May 2018.
Through this campaign tour, the Tibet Museum endeavors to reach out to both Tibetan and non-Tibetans in US and Canada and thereby amplify His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s message of love, peace and compassion; and to raise awareness about current situation in Tibet. Along with exhibition, a documentary film titled: OUT OF THIS WORLD – A Journey into Forbidden Land will be also screened.
Through out the tour, the Tibet Museum will also inform visitors about the new Tibet Museum project and solicit donations for it. The new Tibet Museum covering an area of 9,000 square feet is being built in the 2nd floor of the T building in Gangchen Kyishong, the seat of the Central Tibetan Administration. The new Tibet Museum is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
