RAJPUR: The Tibet Museum of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), Central Tibetan Administration kicked off its month-long traveling exhibition from Tibetan Homes School (THS), Rajpur, near Dehradun, Uttarkhand, on 13 October 2014.

The Tibet Museum showcased three different exhibition titles featuring His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s three main commitments in life, life of Tibetans in exile over the last fifty years and the background information about the Self-immolations in Tibet and reasons why Tibetans are turning to self-immolation.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Migmar Tsering, Vice Principal of THS at 9:15 am and then opened to students, teachers and staff of the school.

Around 500 students, teachers and staff of the school enthusiastically watched the exhibition and later in the evening watched documentary films on Tibet and Tibet related issues.

Before the inauguration of the exhibition, Mr. Tashi Phuntsok, Director of Tibet Museum gave a brief introduction on the activities and program of DIIR and the Tibet Museum, reasons behind holding the exhibition program this year.

The exhibition was held as part of the CTA’s “2014 – Year of His Holiness the Dalai Lama” to express gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s remarkable achievements for the cause of Tibet and promote his ideals of non-violence and human values.

The exhibition also aims to inform Tibetans and non-Tibetans about issues related to Tibet and its people. Next exhibition will be held at Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement from 15-16 October 2014.
