Tibet Museum Showcases Photo Exhibition at Three-day Cultural Festival of Tibet

DELHI: The Tibet Museum of DIIR, Central Tibetan Administration showcased its photo exhibition covering three themes: ‘From Home to Exile – Remembering March 17, 1959’, ‘Tibet’s Journey Into Exile’ and ‘India and Tibet – Ancient Ties, Current Bonds’ during the three-day Cultural Festival of Tibet organised by Central Tibetan Administration in partnership with India International Centre, New Delhi from 2 – 4 April.
On the first day of the festival, Smt Sheila Dixit, former Chief Minister of Delhi graced the opening of the exhibition. She expressed that she was greatly enlightened about Tibet after going through the exhibition. The exhibition was also graced by Smt Kapila Vatsyayan, former Indian diplomat and eminent scholar.
She went through the exhibition one by one with the help of her assistant and museum staff. Smt. Kapila remarked that these are great stories of Tibet. Other eminent personalities at the exhibition were His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche, Kalon Karma Gelek Yuthok, Department of Religion and Culture and others.
Apart from the eminent personalities, the photo exhibition was visited by people from in and around Delhi. This includes Indian friends, office staff, college students, school children etc. Indian visitors were surprised to see such great history of Tibet particularly India and Tibet’s relation since early times. The visitors also got their doubts cleared about Tibet.
Overall the Exhibition was a great eye-opening experience for many Indian friends and helped inspire many of them.
