Organized by the Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement in collaboration with The Tibet Museum under the Department of Information and International Relations

Under the “Year of Compassion” initiative commemorating the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement, in collaboration with The Tibet Museum, successfully organized a series of educational outreach programs across schools in Paonta Sahib and nearby areas during May 2026. The programs featured pictorial exhibitions, talks on SEE Learning and the Four Principal Commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, interactive discussions, and cultural exchange activities aimed at promoting compassion, ethical values, intercultural harmony, and awareness of Tibetan culture and the vision of His Holiness.

The outreach programs were conducted from 13–15 May 2026 at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Paonta Sahib; Vidyapeeth Senior Secondary School, Bhupur; Hill View Public School, Majra; Government Boys Senior Secondary School; Guru Nanak Mission Public School, Shubhkhera; and Rising Star Public School, Puruwala. Students from Classes 1 to 12 enthusiastically participated in the exhibitions and talk sessions, learning about the life, humanitarian vision, and Four Principal Commitments of His Holiness.

A special highlight of the initiative was the Indo-Tibet Cultural Exchange Program held at Hill View Public School, Majra. The event featured colorful Tibetan cultural performances by students from Tibetan Primary Schools of Paonta Sahib and Puruwala, along with a vibrant Himachali Nati presentation by the Shifa Group, beautifully reflecting the spirit of friendship and cultural harmony between the Indian and Tibetan communities.

Dr. Kailash-la delivered insightful talks on SEE Learning, mental well-being, compassion, emotional resilience, and ethical responsibility, encouraging students to cultivate mindfulness, kindness, and inner peace in their daily lives. Interactive sessions further provided meaningful opportunities to learn about Tibet, Tibetan culture, and the values of compassion and non-violence championed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

More than 3,000 students, along with teachers and staff members, actively participated in the programs. The successful organization of the events was made possible through the generous support and cooperation of school principals, directors, teachers, and staff members, including Shri M. R. Verma Ji, Shri N. M. Verma Ji, Shri Prem Pal Thakur Ji, Smt. Ashu Sharma, Shri Ajay Sharma Ji, Shri Gurjeet Singh Saini Ji, and Shri Gurvinder Kaur Chawla Ji.
