The Tibet museum’s travelling exhibition at Paonta Sahib Guton Celebration

To commemorate His Holiness’s legacy and celebrate the Year of Compassion, the Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement hosted a week-long Guton celebration, featuring the Tibet Museum’s travelling pictorial exhibitions on
1. India and Tibet: Ancient Ties, Current Bonds and
2. Journey into Exile.
The program, held from 4–7 August 2025 across Paonta Sahib institutions, aimed to broaden awareness about historical, cultural, and spiritual connections between India and Tibet.
The itinerary featured installations and presentations at Ram Leela Ground on 4 August, followed by sessions on 5 August at Planet Group of Institutions and Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences. On 6 August, the exhibition was presented at the Government Industrial Training Institute. The next morning, it was installed at B.K.D. College for Women, and later in the evening at Herbertpur Sambhota Tibetan School. Sessions included talks by Shri Kailash Chandra Bauddha and engaged over 900 students, staff, and community members. Attendees showed great enthusiasm, with many expressing a personal connection to the exhibition’s content.
Through our four-day travelling exhibition across educational institutions in Paonta Sahib, we were able to present the shared histories and long-established relationships between the two nations to the young minds of India. Their engagement, understanding, and interest in the topic affirmed the exhibition’s success and its meaningful impact.
