Man of Peace Screened During Tibetan National Identity Preservation Week at Maximus Mall, Dharamshala
Dharamshala, 23 September 2026 — As part of the observance of Tibetan National Identity Preservation Week, The Tibet Museum, under the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), organised screenings of Man of Peace – Episodes 1 and 2 at Gold Cinema, Maximus Mall, Dharamshala.
Tibetan National Identity Preservation Week is observed during the fourth week of September to promote awareness and commitment towards preserving Tibetan language, culture, religion, heritage, and values. The week was formally launched on 23 September 2026 by CTA President Penpa Tsering, following a resolution of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
The screening of Man of Peace was the first public programme organised by The Tibet Museum as part of the observance. The animated series presents the life, values, and message of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, highlighting themes of compassion, nonviolence, and universal responsibility.
The Tibet Museum Director, Tenzin Topdhen, delivered the introductory remarks, sharing the concept and journey behind Man of Peace and highlighting the role of animation in connecting audiences, particularly younger generations, with Tibet’s history, identity, culture, and values.
The 10:00 AM Hindi-dubbed screening was attended by Dharamshala Mayor Shamsher Nehria, Commissioner Zaffar Iqbal, Public Service Commissioner Karma Yeshi, CTA secretaries, dignitaries, guests, and members of the public, with the theatre filled to capacity. Prior to the screening, khataks and mementos were presented to the Mayor and Commissioner.
An English-dubbed screening followed for young audiences from Indian and Tibetan schools, offering an accessible introduction to the life and message of His Holiness through animation.
The screening formed part of The Tibet Museum’s ongoing efforts to bring Man of Peace to diverse audiences and use visual storytelling to engage communities with Tibet’s history, heritage, and values.
