The Tibet Museum Showcases Four-day Exhibition in Pathankot
Pathankot: At the invitation of ‘Partap World School’ in Pathankot, Punjab, The Tibet Museum of the Department of Information and International Relations, Central Tibetan Administration, began its four days exhibition from 8th July 2016. The exhibition is on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s life and Indo-Tibet relations along with the screening of documentary film on the history of Tibet.
The first exhibition titled, ‘Biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’ features His Holiness’ Early Life and Responsibilities, His Holiness’ meeting with Indian Leaders, His Holiness’ meeting with world Leaders, Awards and Honors received by His Holiness, Books in English authored and co-authored by His Holiness and His Holiness’ three main commitments in life. The second exhibition titled, ‘Indo-Tibet Relations, Ancient Ties and Current Bonds’, familiarizes with rare photographs and textual explanations, the spiritual, cultural and political relationship that India and Tibet have shared for over thousands of years and how these exchanges have influenced the people of these two civilizations.
Mr. Surjeet Mahajan, the chairman of Partap World School inaugurated the first day exhibition with ribbon cutting followed by lighting the lamp ceremony. Mr. Vishal Mahajan, the school secretary, Mr. Sunny Mahajan, joint secretary and the principal were present in the event. Later, Mr. Sunny Mahajan expressed his gratitude towards Tibet Museum and Central Tibetan Administration for the exhibition showcased. He also added that the exhibition is very informative for everyone, particularly the students to learn about the life of H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama and to get deeper knowledge about Tibet.
Mr. Feroz Khan, Ex-minister of State with independent charge for Science and Technology and information Technology, Jammu & Kashmir commended on the exhibition, ‘It was a great opportunity for one to go through this exhibition held at Partap World School on His Holiness. It will truly inspire the students to struggle in the life’. More than one thousand four hundred students studying in Partap World School along with the teachers and the school staffs also visited the exhibition.
On 9th July, the chief guest of the event, honorable Mr. Anil Vasudeva, the Mayor of Pathankot, initiated the second day of exhibition. Honorable Anil Vasudeva saw the exhibition and commended on the efforts of the organizer and the Tibet Museum for holding the exhibition in school for the first time in Punjab. He also added his prolong view of understanding the exhibition by stating ” Excellent opportunity for the students to see the life and times of H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama ji. Great inspiration to the young minds!” The parents of the school students later visited the exhibition.
The Tibet Museum exhibition will showcase its exhibition in Partap World School till July 11, 2016.
